Meet our beloved Greyhound Mel. Greyside Films official mascot and the inspiration behind our name!

She loves walks in the parks (but not too long)πŸ˜‰ She can be a bit lazy and melancholy at times, but she’s also silly, goofy and always up for the occasional and unexpected zoomie! πŸ€ͺ

She (of course) makes a great addition to our Greyside Films team!

We have been extremely honoured to team up with the The Heart Project, Aussie Santa and the Perth Children's Hospital Foundation to create magical Christmas Santa photos for children who were hospitalised at Perth Children's Hospital. Here is a behind the scenes video we edited of the amazing day last year (2019) we had bringing a touch of Joy and the Christmas spirit to these incredible kids.

In addition to the the Heart Project's major sponsors Nikon and Epson, we also wanted to take a moment to give a huge shout out to our local Perth sponsors Team Digital who provided the lights and green screen backdrop and Doyles Costumes Wangara who dressed our Santa's Helpers.

We are going to be doing a modified "COVID-19" version this year on Monday, November 14th. Unfortunately Santa won't be visiting live but will have a special pre-recorded message for the kids and with a bit of Elfin Magic we will be able to put Santa in the final photo as if he had been there all along! πŸ˜‰

⭐🎞️ Lights. Camera. WAction. 🎞️⭐

Our State has a strong history of producing top level screen talent, but we know that WA has so much more to offer for film and TV production.

There's no shortage of unique and beautiful backdrops, and they've already made a few big screen appearances - but the one thing we don't have is a world-class studio in our State.

So we've put the call out for proposals to build, locate and operate a screen production facility right here in Western Australia.

We've already had several unsolicited proposals to develop screen and studio facilities in WA, but this formal process will help to get it underway and deliver the facilities we need.

Specifically, we're looking for a proposal within 20kms of the Perth CBD that would include:
🎬 a big sound stage between 2,323-3,716 square metres
πŸŽ₯ two or three smaller sound stages of at least 929 square metres
🏒 production offices of around 1,000 square metres
πŸ”¨ two construction workshops of at least 675 square metres each
πŸ’‡β€β™€οΈ costume, laundry, makeup and hair facilities
πŸ”’ lock-up storage and at least 3,000 square metres of parking

This is part of our Market-led Proposal program, and would be a huge boost for our local screen industry.

A few weeks ago, we had such a fun time filming a micro short film "Cheers" for these 2 sisters showreels. They did an amazing job and we are really happy with the final edit. We cannot wait to show the girls the completed product, which should be in a matter of days :)
