At Kinect dry needling is used to relieve muscular tension, DOMS (delayed onset muscular soreness), joint dysfunction, tendinopathy, acute sprains, and quicken the rehabilitation process of athletes, weekend warriors and everything in between. 💪According to APTA - the American Physical Therapy Association - dry needling is a “skilled intervention that uses a thin filiform acupuncture needle to pe*****te the skin and stimulate underlying myofascial trigger points, muscular and connective tissues for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments.” 🏋🏽♀️🚵⛹🏻

In this photo I am using rockblades on a competitive swimmer. 🏊🏽♀️ is one of many tools which can be used in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation (IASTM). IASTM is a popular treatment for myofascial restrictions. It uses specially designed instruments to facilitate removal of scar tissue and myofascial adhesions from injured soft tissue and helps with the healing process via formation of new extracellular matrix proteins such as collagen.
