Looking for a calming, imaginative holiday workshop for your child? Welcome to Watercolor Worlds—a beautiful creative journey designed to switch on young imaginations at The Maker Space!
During this blissful 3-hour session, kids will explore the magical world of watercolors, learning playful techniques and experimenting with color mixing. They'll then design their own unique bugs—whether they are real or completely imagined!
Because we focus on the peaceful process of art rather than a rigid "copycat" template, children learn to relax, trust their instincts, and lean into their own unique ideas. It’s the perfect way to build confidence while refreshing a tired school-term brain! 🧠✨

🍔🧁 BIG NEWS: Baking Club is Returning to The Maker Space!
We are absolutely thrilled to welcome back the incredibly talented Baking Club to The Maker Space at Floreat Forum this July school holidays with two brand-new, delicious workshops!
Just like our art sessions, Baking Club isn't about making a "perfect," cookie-cutter replica. It’s a creative space where kids use simple sketching and pure imagination to design individual, edible masterpieces that are as unique as they are!
Here is what is on the menu for July:
🍔 Workshop 1: Burger Cookies! (Ages 7+)
Learn to roll, stick, and shape different textures to build your ultimate dream burger and fries—made entirely out of tasty cookies! Kids will take home their custom creations in a carry box.
Workshop 2: Woodland Cupcakes (Ages 8+)
Use fondant to sculpt adorable woodland animal faces while exploring proportions, color, and eye placement. Kids will master using a piping bag to swirl their buttercream before assembling their unique creatures to take home.

✨ Watercolour Worlds: Garden & Bug Art ✨
🌿 The Vibe: Calming, mindful, and visually stunning.
🎨 What they'll do: A mindful, creative watercolour workshop! Kids will learn techniques, switch on their imaginations, and paint a beautiful, vibrant garden filled with custom, unique bugs. Participants will dive into process-based art, designing a bug painting and a card-based sculptural bug. There are no copycat templates here; instead, kids are empowered to explore the fantastical bug world and lean into their own ideas to create two unique masterpieces!
💪 The Parent Value: This mindful session focuses on the peaceful process of art, encouraging kids to relax, trust their instincts, and celebrate what makes them unique. Designed to grow a 'brave brain.'
🎨 Art Jam: Ultimate Child-Led Paint Party
✨ The Vibe: Vibrant, independent, and completely mess-free (for you!).
🚀 What they'll do: Get ready for the ultimate holiday morning of pure creative freedom! Kids get to paint whatever they imagine on a blank canvas. Whether they want to experiment with bold colors, stencils, or new techniques, we provide expert guidance, plenty of inspiration, and premium supplies while keeping them completely entertained. It's all about independent fun and leaning into their own unique ideas.
💪 The Parent Value: We handle all the setup and clean-up, meaning the beautiful, creative mess stays entirely in our space, not your house! More importantly, because there are no rigid templates, your child builds confidence in their decision-making, learns to trust their artistic instincts, and experiences the joy of uninterrupted, self-directed creation. They'll leave with a gorgeous, unique masterpiece they are genuinely proud of!

"No templates. No 'right way'. Just pure imagination. 🗺️✨
Ever noticed how kids panic when they draw a line 'wrong'?
🗺️ In our brand-new July Holiday Map Makers Creative Island workshop, we don't use rigid templates or step-by-step copycat grids. We start with a blank page and a pile of rice! Then we add the details. If a river goes the wrong way or a path looks wonky, we don't erase it—we pivot!
We turn that 'mistake' into a hidden dragon's cave or a secret island. Kids will also make stamps to add places and name the island using their own names as inspiration. They aren't just building beautiful, custom-designed worlds at The Maker Space—they’re building a can-do, problem-solving mindset they can use anywhere. 📍 Standalone 3-hour sessions for ages 6–12 at Floreat Forum.

Double digits! 🎂✨ This weekend, we had the absolute joy of celebrating a very special 10th birthday at The Maker Space.
The birthday girl has been coming to our creative workshops since she was just 6 years old, and she even celebrated her birthday with us last year, too! Watching our young makers grow in confidence and creativity over the years is truly the best part of what we do.
Her mum left us the most beautiful review after her last party, sharing:
"The venue is light, bright, and inspiring... The host was fantastic and engaged the girls beautifully... The 2.5-hour party meant there was plenty of time for painting, eating, and playing... Every child went home with a masterpiece they were proud of!"
This year, the girls completely leveled up the good vibes for a 2.5-hour Painting Party. They turned the studio into a runway, dressing up in our props, hats, wigs, and sunglasses (swipe for the pure joy! 🕶️🎩).
But what really melted our hearts was the artwork. The girls painted canvases featuring positive messages. While we provided some initial ideas, we absolutely loved that each girl made up her own personalized affirmation. Instead of matching, "copycat" designs, every single painting turned out as completely unique and beautiful as the girl who created it. 🎨💖
With 2.5 hours, there was zero rush—just the perfect balance of time to paint, play, eat, and make memories.
