🌗 Who else got a glimpse of the blood moon and eclipse yesterday?
🌏 And where in the world did you see it?

We are in Perth, Australia, and did capture some shots on iPhone ( the videos ) and the images with our telescope and phone attached.

Nowhere near professional 😂 The moon is not particularly easy to capture, but it was certainly cool to see!

🦀 WEEK 2/52 🐾

1. Went crabbing with friends.
2. Sem cooked his caught crab.
3. Our housesit with this amazingly funny and sassy dog ended.
4. Went housesitting for the same dogs we minded during Christmas. Unfortunately this beautiful loving bundle of joy passed away due to old age peacefully in her garden.
5. Went out for lunch
6. Walked the foreshore and noticed this lock / heart feature for the first time - even though we have walked here many times
7. Our beach path. Love our neighbourhood 💙 🌊

1️⃣ Week 1/52

1 | We started the year with a lot of other Dutchies that live around Perth with a traditional New Years Dive ( Nieuwsjaarsduik)
We all dive into the ocean with our beanies on, which is a typical Dutch tradition. Check out our 2025 Xmas and NYE highlight if you want to see more.

2 | Crabbing Season started well and truely in the / Peel Region

3 | We were housesitting and cared for this amazing dachshund

4 | Orthodontics visit as Semmie got his braces

5 | Started watching a Dutch Documentary about the Netherlands best restaurant. 3 Star restaurant the
Fun fact: During my time at the hotelschool, years and years ago I talked with Therese ( the owner ) on the phone about working there, but I thought it was just a step to high at that point ( doubted myself as I was still studying at the hotelschool ) and choose to work at instead. Sometimes I still wonder how my life would look like if I did get the job at the Librije.

6 | Said goodbye to our housesit with this gorgeous dachshund. This was the welcome we got everytime we walked through the door 🤣

7 | One night at our own home in between housesits. We are fully booked again this season.

Time is already flying!! Again!! I mean how quick did last year fly by?!

10 years ago!
It was the year that changed our lives forever.

Our lives have changed so much over the last 10 years and we are so incredibly proud of what we have achieved together.
Looking back at those memories made us so happy that we made the ( controversial ) choices we made.

Quit our jobs, sell everything, leave our home ( we did it all before when we left the Netherlands ) and hit the road with a 1.5 year old toddler with no home, no jobs, no solid plan. Only a travel direction, savings and a start up business.

The last 10 years have been full of amazing memories, but also the lowest of lows.

2016 was definitely one of our best years from this last decade without worries, grief, sorrow or heartbreak that were about to follow over the years 🥹

But all the negative things were always overpowered by strength, dedication, love and determination 🤍
And we are so incredibly grateful for this crazy adventurous life we created.
Hope 2026 will be as good as 2016
