Saturday the 2nd May saw Doug piping at another wedding, this time at Yanchep Inn followed by a reception at Yanchep caves which it must be said, is an outstanding venue. A selection of uplifting tunes were played for patrons and those attending the wedding, followed by tunes to greet guests and the happy couple when they arrived at the caves. Selecting the tune Highland Cathedral it was played as a 5 minute warning prior to the arrival of the newly weds before they made their grand entry. Pictures capture the event and first dance of the evening for the newly wed Mr and Mrs Maher. Congratulations to you both.

On February the 21st of February Doug had the privilege of playing a selection of Scots and Irish tunes at the wedding of Marie and Martin Crisp. With Marie’s family flying in from Ireland nothing was left to chance with rehearsals conducted and everyone briefed on their roles. Despite the Fremantle Doctor blowing like crazy and whipping off Maries Veil (which was thankfully recovered) nothing was going to stop the happy couple having a great time. Best wishes again to the happy couple.

The attached images were garnered from proud parents in February when they visited Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Brisbane. They include Cameron with his Mum Glenda when he stopped for a break between performances during the show, needless to say it was a great event.

25th January is a significant date on the Scottish calendar when Scots celebrate the life of Robert Burns Scotlands famous poet. Venue again was the Pipers Inn where Jack piped in the Haggis and Brian McMurdo carried out his duties by conducting a great address to the Haggis. Thanks again to Gary Drummond and all staff at the Pipers Inn who worked their socks off for another fun filled night.

In Memoriam, on the 13th January Doug played for the funeral service of the Late George Turnbull. Doug had Previously played for this proud man from the Orkney Islands on his 85th Birthday. Doug played for the arrival of mourners and committal. The service conducted by Scottish celebrant Mary Simpson was a very Scottish affair with Scots Poetry, laughs tears and all that follows a celebration of life. Doug was proud to play his part for a former member of the Royal Airforce by adding a Scottish Military touch. The photos capture Doug and Mary.
