Some ideas as to why more tracking might be equating to less connection - to ourselves and through ourselves to others.
They’ll even go as far as to say “my watch tells me…” they are reporting on data from their devices, not actually connecting to what’s happening within.
When we don’t know how we feel within, or how to find out how we feel, we can’t authentically relate to the world around us.
Read that again.
Have you actually felt into your body and asked yourself how you are feeling today? Can you notice the sensation, the emotion, the information and messaging your body is giving you about how you are showing up?
Take a breath, check in, notice what’s happening. How you are in your body, so too you are in the world.
I’m a somatic movement therapist and I’m building a new offering based on this. If you want support and practical tools for connecting to your body and coming home to yourself, so you can show up better in your world. Comment HOME and I’ll send you some more information ❤️
MENOPAUSE ACTUALLY WRAP 💥❤️🩸🧨🥊🍷🔥
Throwing back to our Menopause Actually event six weeks ago to acknowledge the superstar women who shared not only their knowledge, but also their embodied wisdom about perimenopause and menopause. I don’t care that it’s long, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t watch this till the end. 🙌
Michelle Murphy | Health • Wealth • Business • Vibes from Mercy Physiotherapy & Baby Swim welcomed us into our crone era and started the revolutionary fire discussing why wise old woman have traditionally been persecuted because of the threat we pose to the patriachy (eg: we no longer give a f*** about what men think of us) while also informing us of our choices for pelvic floor health care and reminding us that we should never put up with symptoms that can be easily addressed and treated. (No, weeing when you laugh is not normal, but it is common so let’s chat about it and find a solution!)
Mandy Gratzer from Acupuncture & TCM in Maylands followed her by delving into the beautiful Chinese medicine reframe for perimenopause “Second Spring” and highlighting how no part of the human body exists in a silo. She truly treats the systems of the body holisically and brought us a pep talk for woman everywhere - to take back our power, confidentally leave our maiden era behind and stop expecting our bodies to operate “understaffed”.
Finally Bo - what can I say? Bo is menopharmacist running EmpowHER Menopause and is the ‘talk no nonsense, take no crap’ practitioner you need in your life. She will believe you, she will advocate for you and she will help you get the treatment you need. MVP quote of the night was when Bo said “no amount of HRT is going to stop your husbands from being d***heads”
I sat in the crowd absolutely gobsmacked - at the passion, the knowledge and the way these women drove their points home. As one of almost 50 women in the room the energy was undeniable - I felt seen, held and completely honoured by the way these three women captured not only perimenopause, but also the incredible journey of being a woman and continually re-becoming.
TEACHING TEACHERS >>>
Absolutely loved having the gorgeous Ella Jane for a session a few weeks back. She was hungry for knowledge and had such beautiful control over her practice that I could give her one cue and see huge change, immediately. With her permission I wanted to post this amazing “spot the difference” in real time to see if people can pick up what shifts between the two videos and guess what cue I might have given her to get such a change to her form and alignment from video 1 > video 2 🤔

THIS IS WHAT GRIT LOOKS LIKE >>>
We could talk all day about what Pilates does for your body, but honestly, some of our favourite moments in the studio have nothing to do with the physical. They’re moments like this one. Where someone who has shown up consistently, done the work, and built something real in themselves, reaches what they think is their edge and then finds out they have more.
That “I don’t think I can” and then doing two more anyway? That’s not a small thing. That’s everything.
The strength you build in the studio doesn’t just stay there. It goes home with you and it shows up in the hard conversations, the long work days, the moments that ask more of you. Because when you’ve proven to yourself (in your body, in real time) that you can do hard things, that knowledge becomes part of you. You don’t just build physical strength you build inner strength - resillience.
We are so proud of this human and grateful she lets us be part of her journey. You know who you are. 💛

WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT BUNIONS >>>
An expose by Movementality Pilates
Everything you’ve been told about bunions is incomplete, and honestly... it’s kept a lot of people unnecessarily resigned to something that is actually changeable.
Bunions are not extra bone growth, they are not a deformity you were dealt and have to live with, and although they have a genetic component, this is a susceptibility to them, not the reason you have them.
The brutal truth? Bunions are shaped largely by environment; eg: the shoes you wear, your overall foot strength, your gait and how you distribute your weight and transfer load over time.
What makes bunions worse? The footwear industry has sold us on narrow toe boxes, elevated heels and over cushioned soles which have made our feet weak and lazy. These shoes squish our feet into shapes they were not designed to hold.
But here’s the good news. With smarter footwear choices, alignment tools and some dedicated foot and whole-body conditioning work, you can absolutely improve your foot function and give those joints a genuine chance to realign.
It’s not overnight. It’s not magic. But it is possible. That’s something we think everyone with bunions deserves to know. Your feet have been patient with you. It’s time to return the favour.

Two weeks ago we hosted an event by women for women about navigating perimenopause and menopause.
Menopause, Actually started as a spark of an idea when I was in a room of incredible practitioners earlier this year listening to Michelle Murphy educate us all about Menopause. I thought, I have been trying to find this information for a while now, clients have been asking me for a few years and I haven’t had it delivered in such a succinct, no bu****it way. More women need this!
On the night we had 40+ women attend and a further 20+ bought online tickets. Since the event I have had several people ask me to rehost it claiming they feel they alone could sell it out with their friends and colleagues. I have had other women say thank you they spent years gathering this information from trusted sources and they way it was all provided on one night in one place was outstanding. This information is in demand and women are wanting more from their health care providers and from their communities. We all needed this.
The energy in the room on the night was palpable. Michelle, Mandy and Bo were phenomenal speakers each bringing their own flavour to a plethora of knowledge, but even more importantly, lived wisdom. I feel honoured that I was able to witness and be involved in such an incredible event which honestly was bigger than any on of us individually.
What I witnessed two weeks ago was the collective power of women. And what we can create when we work together. 💛
