Wrapping up the year in a very different way to how it started - 2025

January - March racing the ProVelo Super League and finishing up my full-time cycling career.

The remainder of the year has been getting used to a different lifestyle. Studying full time, working part time as a high school relief teacher, riding once or twice a week for fun, and more recently, getting into the gym 3x a week (did my first ever upper body workout in October!). Oh, and also doing a lot of planning and preparation for our wedding in November.

Letting go of cycling full-time has been challenging and there are so many aspects I miss dearly. The bike will always mean a lot to me, and who knows, maybe one day there’ll be something of a comeback - never say never, right? 😅

Life is good. Always looking forward to what comes next. See you in the new year 🙏

ProVelo Super League - SA Kick It Stage 1 TT

Super stoked to finish 7th in the first stage of the SA Kick It tour here in Adelaide. Willunga is an iconic climb in Australian cycling and I’m thrilled to have put in a great ride and some huge power PBs.

This evening we race around Victoria Park here in Adelaide in a 1h long Criterium. You can watch the race on SBS at 5:40pm Adelaide time (3:10 Perth, 6:10 Melbourne). Details are on my story.

U23 National Road Race Championships - 12th

Wow! What a race.

It was such a pleasure to race Nationals in the WA State Champion jersey and represent our state at a home championships. I had such a fun time racing with the best U23s in the country on my local training roads. I struggle to justly express how much fun I had. It was awesome.

Although not everything went exactly to plan (some stomach problems and vomitting mid race), I’m really proud of the ride I put in. The last two laps were genuinely the hardest thing I’ve ever pushed myself through. I crossed the finish line completely and utterly empty, not even strong enough to hold back tears. But to sob with my friends and family who wouldn’t normally be able to watch me at nationals was special in itself.

Riding bikes is awesome. I can’t wait to travel to Adelaide this week to kick off the ProVelo Super League, and have even more fun racing around the country.

Thank you to everyone who cheered from the roadside and watched us race on TV. You’re awesome 🫶

U23 National Time Trial Championships - 5th

Super big day for me yesterday, and one that I’m very proud of. A small part of me is disappointed that I was just 9 seconds away from making it onto the podium, but I gave it my all and couldn’t have asked for too much more. I nailed my power targets and race prep, and delivered a great performance on the day.

It’s such a satisfying feeling to be towards the pointy end of the results sheet again - it’s taken a lot of hard work to get here.

As always, thanks to everyone who supports me, and those who came and watched yesterday. It means a lot.
