Lumbaca Group has turned 17!!!

Somehowโ€ฆ we blinked and 17 years went by. Either time flies, or weโ€™ve just been too busy working to notice ๐Ÿ˜…

This one hits differently, because itโ€™s our first milestone since the big Lumbaca Group re-brand.

So whether youโ€™ve been with us since the beginning or just discovered us recently, thank you for being part of the story. It genuinely means the world to us.

As much as we are truly proud of our accomplishments over the past 17 years, this is really just another excuse to eat cake ๐Ÿ˜† And like all good Aussie businesses, we had to give 47% of our cake to old mate.

Our client had been experiencing major water ingress issues in their luxury apartment complex.

Amongst other issues, Lumbaca Group identified a failed waterproofing substrate to the balconies, along with incorrect falls to the drainage.

Our team of highly skilled contractors undertook heavy demolition works and rebuilt the balconies with a podium (or pedestal) tiling system, allowing for better drainage, prevention of ponding, and facilitating the correction of falls.

This system has no grout, allows for easier cleaning, and mitigates any inevitable efflorescence issues.

Working on Level 5 of this complex presented challenges, but through meticulous project management our team was able to successfully deliver this project ahead of schedule, under budget and the balconies were nicely tested by Narelle's wrath over the weekend ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ

Cladding remediation works are currently in progress on a live, high-traffic street environment.

Our team is currently completing a faรงade rectification project, removing failed cladding and installing a compliant replacement system along with a new structural substrate. Works are being delivered via EWP under strict traffic, pedestrian, and exclusion-zone controls to maintain safety for occupants, the public, and our personnel.

Project Commencement | Oracle Apartments

We have officially commenced remedial works at the Oracle Apartments, delivering a complex balcony tiling remediation project addressing defective waterproofing works.

Unlike new builds, remedial projects typically involve live environments, existing defects, restricted access, and a requirement for precision at every stage โ€” particularly in high-rise settings.

These works are being undertaken on Level 5, presenting significant logistical and access challenges โ€” from material handling and sequencing to maintaining safety, quality, and minimal disruption to residents. This is not straightforward construction; it requires highly skilled trades, precise planning, and tight ex*****on.

Our scope includes the full remediation of balcony tiling systems, ensuring long-term waterproofing performance and compliance โ€” not just a cosmetic fix, but a durable solution.
