In a special ceremony at the Furuno（Japan）headquarters, IEEE leaders from around the globe joined us to unveil the Milestone Plaque, placed proudly beside our original 1949 Fish Finder, the world’s first commercial model. This breakthrough helped revolutionize the fishing industry and shaped the future of marine electronics.

The IEEE Milestone program celebrates technologies that have stood the test of time (25+ years!) and changed the course of history. Previous honorees include transformative inventions like the atomic clock, the barcode, and the LORAN system—and we’re proud to see Furuno stand among them.
