What to wear for your family portrait session? I've got you covered 👇
Sometimes it can feel like the easiest bit is booking the family in for photos, the next part is figuring out what to wear. It can feel tricky at the start, but I've got some tips for families who might feel a little stuck:

(1) Choose a colour palette that suits you and also considers the location. You can opt for soft pastels for a beach shoot, or deeper, earthy tones for a session in the bush. You don't need to all have exactly the same colours, but go for hues from a similar colour family.

(2) Avoid heavily patterned clothing, large graphics and super vibrant colours. These make you stand out too much against the background or other people. You want to blend together in a seamless way. Opt for texture and flowy outfits over large patterns.

(3) A little bit of pattern is ok - go for tiny dots or subtle florals. Try to have only 1 or 2 people in patterns and the rest in plain clothes that compliment each other.

(4) Dress for the weather! Opt for linen and dresses in summer and cozy sweaters and jeans in winter. You can check the weather forecast a few days before your session to be prepared.

(5) Go for outfits that feel like YOU. Choose something you feel good in. Keep it comfortable, coordinated and true to your style. You'll look amazing, I promise!

Krysia & Mason's little girl arrived and their whole world changed ❤ I adore photographing newborn sessions, there is nothing quite like bringing your first born home. Yes the nights can be tough, and the days can be busy, but newborn snuggles are something else ❤
You don't realise how quickly they change until you blink and then all of a sudden they're chunky babies exploring the world.
So pause, and breathe in those chest naps.

Krysia and Mason wanted to capture the last stage of her pregnancy before they welcomed their first child. Maternity sessions are so special because it's such a fleeting time in a woman's life. You might feel a bit uncomfortable (those 3rd trimester feels!) but it's something that people often tell me 'I wish I did a pregnancy shoot' if they didn't end up taking photos.
I get it. The last few weeks of pregnancy you feel tired, your feet hurt and anything on the floor just lives there now. It's funny how many mums do a pregnancy session with their last baby, because they realised how much they missed that unique time.
If you're on the fence about it - I say DO IT. The best time is around 33-36weeks when you're rocking that bump and feeling all those kicks 🥰
I will help you in front of the camera so you don't feel awkward, and say silly things to make you feel at ease. Plus I also have a range of special maternity dresses that you can use that's included when you book with me.
