Increase in Ultra-Processed Foods in UK Toddlers’ Diets!!😟
A study by University College London (UCL) has revealed that ultra-processed foods (UPFs) form a significant part of children’s diets in the UK. At just 21 months old, toddlers were consuming nearly half (47%) of their daily calories from UPFs. By the age of seven, this figure had risen to 59%. The research, published in the European Journal of Nutrition, analyzed data from 2,591 children born in 2007–2008, showing how UPFs become a major part of diets early in life. This study just shows how essential it is to encourage a real food diet in our toddlers, so they can grow up to have healthier habits :)
