Now, this spell-chant is a witchy reimagining, meant to call in luck, abundance, protection, and strength for the month ahead. So speak it with will, and let the month begin in magick!

Does anyone else feel like February just 𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱? One minute we're lighting Imbolc candles, the next we're staring down March like "wait, what just happened?"

Ah, dears.

February is strange. It's the runt of the year... shortest month, coldest bite, that weird stretch where winter overstays its welcome but spring hasn't shown up yet... The old folk called it "the hungry month" for a reason. Supplies run low, patience runs thin, and somehow 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 feels harder than it should.

And I mean...
I had plans this February. Real plans. Things to make, spells to share, projects I swore I'd finish. And then... then, life got 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲𝘆 (right, Moonlit Me?) ... the mundane crushed the magickal, and here we are at month's end with half-done lists and that familiar guilt creeping in.

Okay.
Let's step back.
Here's what the grannies and hedge witches knew:

𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀. 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺. You feed the fire. You mend what's broken. You keep your head down and your stores rationed because March... 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 is when things move again. The sap rises, the ground softens, the work begins for real.

So if you "didn't accomplish enough" this February? You survived it, my dear. That counts.

Magick for the Longest Night, Solstice Ritual Oil.

As we approach the Solstice, preparing a fresh anointing oil is a simple and Powerful piece of magick, to welcome the returning light.

A beautiful blend for protection, purification and solar energy often include:

🌿 Frankincense, for grounding and spiritual elevation.
🍊 Orange Peel, to welcome the sun's return and joy.
🌱 Rosemary, for protection and enduring life through winter.
🔥 Cinnamon, to stoke inner fire and purification.

This oil can be used to anoint candles, charge your altar tools, or trace a protective sign on your windows.

Recipe

This recipe is designed to be simple, focusing on the Solstice energies of protection, purification and welcoming the returning sun.

Ingredients
Carrier Oil Base use 1/4 cup of either Almond, Jojoba or fractionated Coconut oil (avoiding heavy scents)

🌿Frankincense oil 3-5 drops, spiritual elevation and protection.
🍊Sweet Orange oil 3 drops, joy, abundance and solar energy.
🔥 Cinnamon oil 1 drop, in a fire, passion and rapid purification.
Small pinch of Rosemary and dried Orange peel, Rosemary for protection and dried Orange peel for joy.
⛑️Safety Note: Cinnamon essential oil is very potent, always use sparingly and avoid direct skin application without extreme dilution.

Ensure your chosen bottle and tools are cleansed either physically or with smoke / incense.
Combine Oils, pour the carrier oil into your clean jar or bottle and then add the essential oils, carefully at the essential oils drop by drop, focusing your intention with each addition.
Add herbs this is optional, if using dried herbs, add a small pinch now.
Seal the bottle tightly and shake gently to combine, place the oil on your altar, near a source of light, or under the moon for several days to charge it with Solstice energy.
This oil is ready to use for anointing candles and charging talismans, consecrating your also tools in the days leading up to and on the Solstice.
