This morning with a whole heap of other brigades and bguโ€™s Metro VFRS completed the MSWA Step Up, 1100 steps/ 55 floors of the one of the tallest buildings in Perth city!

3 of our members completed the stair climb in BA ( and setting a fantastic pace) while the others were able to complete the stair climb in their highest level of PPC.

I cant explain how proud I am of these people, they have been putting themselves through gruesome training sessions at Jacobs Ladder, for the weeks and months before today to be ready and prepared!

A huge thank you also goes out to the DFES Wellness team Scott, Tori and Billy for their support(and snacks!) this morning as well.

We canโ€™t wait to do it again next year!
๐Ÿš’๐Ÿš’ โ€” ๏ฟผfeeling fantastic.

Our crews have been assisting multiple Local Govenments and Agencies with hazard reductions burns through out this week. This weekend we continue our work assisting the City of Swan in conducting this large tenure-blind strategic burn. Please be careful if you are traveling in this area.

When the fire is out and the summer is over, our job is still far from done. As firefighters we are also responsible for other duties such as attending community events and schools to help spread the knowledge of fire, how it works and what to do in emergencies.

Recently we had the opportunity to attend Carey Baptist College where we spent the afternoon teaching year 5โ€™s all about firefighting! We think they had as much fun as we did ๐Ÿ˜‚
