Alcoa has abandoned plans to drill for bauxite in Armadale, Kalamunda, Mundaring, Beverley and York shires thanks to public outcry.
- Not yet clear if that is part or all of the previously proposed 'Exploration Development Envelope northeast of Albany Hwy on map below.
BUT Alcoa still proposes to expand its strip mining into Myara North, Holyoake and O'Neil areas of the jarrah forest, and increase its alumina production at its Pinjarra refinery.

Bungendore Park revisit today -Wildflowers disappointing but western area above the scarp (away from all the rehab'd gravel pit areas) worth the easy wander.

Banyowla Reg. Park today - A beautiful spot for a short walk along the scarp amidst prolific wildflowers.
But sad to see old tracks are being degraded by 4WD's picking the wrong area to test their off-road driving skills.
