When the pandemic hit I lost my new job at a photography studio, I decided I had nothing to lose and may as well formalise my love of plants and study horticulture and garden design. I never could have imagined the bitter dissapointment of losing my job could have turned into one of the biggest joys of my life. Youāre never too old to start again!

āA glance at Krystleās plant photography confirms she has the same eye for beauty as Piet Oudolf, there are vases filled with poppy seed heads, spent rose blooms and autumn leaves - all at the end of their life, all stunning.
Embracing plants at every stage of their life cycle isnāt just useful if youāre a photographer, it is a genius way to garden through our hottest months. With summer bearing down, this is a clever tactic more Perth gardeners should try. āItās all about observingā Krystle says. āSpent blooms and seed pods can be just as beautiful as a flower in its prime.ā Thanks for saying such lovely things about my work and garden you have made my year.

These images were taken at the beginning of my photography journey and one of the reasons I fell in love with photography. I have come full circle in 10 years now working as a horticulturalist, garden designer and photographer. It all started with a little girl who loved flowers.
