Volunteer spotlight: Julie with Eve & Zoe 🐾💛

Some matches are simply meant to be, and Julie's friendship with Eve and Zoe is a wonderful example of that!

Sweet senior girl Eve loves getting out for a good sniff around the neighbourhood and a gentle half-hour stroll, while her little mate Zoe is always happy to join the adventure. With two different-sized dogs and two very different personalities, Julie certainly has her hands full, but she's embraced the challenge and loves the special bond she's building with both of them 🐕🐕

Their owner is incredibly grateful to Julie and fellow long-term walker Kylie for their ongoing support, kindness and reliability. Knowing Eve and Zoe have caring volunteers who regularly take them out for exercise and companionship brings enormous peace of mind.

Could you be the perfect walking buddy for Fritz in Lockridge? 💙

Fritz is a calm and friendly Staffy cross looking for a volunteer walker. Like many dogs, he gets a little excited when it's time for attention and tummy rubs, but once those important greetings are out of the way, he's relaxed, easy to walk and happy to enjoy some time outdoors.

A regular walk helps keep Fritz healthy, active and engaged, while also providing valuable support for his owner.

On a day when most of us were reaching for an extra blanket, Candice and Milly were out braving the wind and rain on their very first walk together! 💙

While the weather was putting on a show, Milly wasn't fazed one bit. This lovely girl was just happy to be out and about, stretching her legs and enjoying some well-deserved exercise. And Candice? She showed exactly what makes POOPS volunteers so special, turning up with a smile and giving Milly the walk she needed, no matter the conditions.

Volunteer spotlight: Annalise & Buddy 🐾💚

They say it takes a village, and Buddy is lucky enough to have a whole team behind him!

Recently, volunteer Annalise, who has been walking Buddy in Eglinton for the past year, enjoyed a celebratory breakfast with Buddy and his owner. It was a lovely opportunity to reflect on the friendships and connections that have grown through POOPS WA.

Buddy joined POOPS almost two years ago and, like many of our dogs, it took time to build a reliable walking team. Today, he's supported by an amazing group of volunteers: Annalise, Candy, Graeme, Ledah and newcomer Rosalie. Together, they help ensure Buddy gets the exercise, companionship and adventures he loves.

Of course, anyone who knows Buddy might argue that it's actually Buddy who takes the volunteers for a walk! 😂 This feisty little chap has certainly won over the hearts of everyone on his team.

A huge amount of time and effort goes into matching clients and volunteers, so it's always incredibly rewarding to hear how much that support means. Here's what Buddy's owner had to say:

"Buddy and I feel so lucky since you have helped us. He is a young dog and needs much better walks than I can do. He loves all the people who walk him! Of course, you have found all these people for us. Thank you."

Messages like this remind us why POOPS exists. Thank you to Annalise, Candy, Graeme, Ledah and Rosalie for making such a difference to Buddy and his owner, one walk at a time 🐾✨

Meet Olly & Zoe, an adorable brother and sister duo looking for a couple of volunteer walkers in the Geographe area. 💙

These 1-year-old Maltese Shih Tzu crosses are friendly youngsters who are excited to head out for an adventure and quickly settle into an enjoyable walk. They're looking for volunteers who can take them for a fun 30-minute outing each week.
