Digging into History – and Sweet Potatoes! 🥔🌱
Our horticulture team has been busy at the Kewdale Museum site, giving the veggie patch a tidy-up and uncovering some buried treasure – sweet potatoes!
Jett and Ashlee were on the tools for this one, putting in the hard yards and reaping the (root) rewards. Not every day you get to combine garden maintenance with a bit of harvesting fun!
Nice work, team – a great reminder of the variety in our days and the joy of working outdoors.

🍂 Did you know these facts about deciduous trees?
“Deciduous” comes from the Latin word decidere, meaning to fall off — referring to the way these trees shed their leaves each year.
Many deciduous trees prepare for winter by pulling nutrients from their leaves back into the trunk — nature’s version of packing up for the season.
Without leaves, they soak up winter sun on the ground below, making them great for gardens that need winter light.- And after a proper winter prune, some species can grow up to 25% faster in spring!
Why does this matter?
Because now is the best time to prune deciduous trees — while they’re dormant, leafless, and stress-free.

The best time to prune your trees? Right now.
Late winter to early spring is ideal for pruning many tree species across Western Australia. It’s when most trees are still dormant.

AND THAT'S A WRAP///Another fire cut season completed
We accepted the challenge eight weeks ago to complete around 500+ sites for slashing, mowing. brush cutting and spraying maintenance around the metro and regional areas of WA.
It hasn't been the easiest of challenges and we have had a few falls along the way but our fantastic team has all pulled together to get us across the line just in time.
Big thank you to all the staff that has worked on this project from the support staff in the office to the guys on site and our very skilled team in the workshop.
We could not have pulled this off without every single one of you.
