Most workplace injuries don’t happen because people don’t know the rules.

They happen because workers rush, assume, and skip the basics.

Stopping for 10 seconds before starting a task can prevent:
• Slips & trips
• Caught-between injuries
• Plant & equipment incidents
• Manual handling injuries

Think first. Every task. Every time.

3 Safety Habits Every Worker Should Follow 👷‍♂️⚠️

Most incidents don’t come out of nowhere — they come from small habits we ignore every day.

These 3 habits are the simplest ways to protect yourself, your crew, and get home in one piece:

1️⃣ Slow down by 10%

Rushing is the #1 reason workers slip, trip, miss hazards, or stuff up a task they’ve “done 100 times.”
A tiny slowdown now saves hours of paperwork, injury, and time off.

2️⃣ Report every hazard

Don’t overthink it.
If something is unsafe, speak up.
You’re not being dramatic — you’re preventing someone else from getting hurt later.

3️⃣ Wear your PPE — every time

One missing piece of PPE can be the difference between a close call and a life-changing injury.
Helmet, gloves, glasses, boots… chuck it all on before you start.

Workers rush because of:
• Pressure to finish fast
• “I’ve done this 100 times” mindset
• Shortcuts becoming habits

Risk:
Most rush-related incidents involve slips, trips, handling plant incorrectly, or missing obvious hazards.

💡 Fix:
Slow down 10%. It saves hours of paperwork, time off work, and injury.

Mistake : Not reporting hazards

People skip reporting because:
• “It’s not that serious”
• “Someone else will deal with it”
• “I don’t want to be a problem”

Risk:
Unreported hazards usually become actual incidents.

💡 Fix:
If you see it — report it. You’re not being annoying; you’re preventing injuries.
Mistake : Incorrect or no PPE

Common issues:
• Wrong gloves
• No eye protection
• Not replacing damaged PPE
• PPE worn incorrectly

Risk:
Most preventable injuries come from simple PPE failures.

💡 Fix:
Wear the right PPE for the task AND conditions, not just the minimum.
