An exciting opportunity unfolded as two teams from Western Australia traveled to Indonesia to compete in an international tournament, accompanied by two WA referees who are mentoring and supporting their Indonesian counterparts throughout the event. We arrived in Indonesia on November 27, warmly welcomed at the airport by the organizers, with the teams—Cockburn Wolves and The European Academy from Albany—joining us the following day.

The competition has the potential to expand further, with Levante Football Club expressing interest in participating next year. Daniel Pastor, Levante’s Director of International Training, is attending the tournament to evaluate the setup, organization, and quality of the teams involved.

It’s been fascinating to hear Phil Traianedes and Mick Hankin providing insightful feedback to the Indonesian referees. As the week progresses, the excitement continues to build!
