Artisan Brewing are celebrating their ten year anniversary with no holds barred - a colossal ten beer release, each clocking in at 10% ABV. Ten out of ten.

Each beer has also been brewed via collaboration with some of the most revered local brewery, winery and venue legends you'll find in WA.

I designed the branding for this beer series with the approach of conjuring a mighty and regal presence within them as a collective, whilst also presenting meticulous details and character for each beer individually as stand-alones. Each beer has it’s own story.

In classic Artisan style we have vintage textures, weathered imagery and muted tones, paired with delicate metallic gold trimmings and refined typefaces.

Energetic, playful and bold outback country vibes demand your attention. The RCMF poster is the boss of this brand.

Translated across to corporate, the letterhead and company profile presents to vendors and sponsors with the glow of the sky and red dirt.

New juicy design goodness created for the Artisan Brewing summer beer release - "Northern Grove" Mango Macadamia Sour.

The visual vibe for this beer takes you directly to the plantations, mangroves and balmy sunsets of our northern Australian regions. With lashings of fresh mango and macadamia nuts, both abundant in their tropical climates, I wanted to capture the scene instantly at a first glance for this design.

Upon viewing this beer in the fridge, your eyes can already taste it. Those big juicy hanging mangoes glowing softly in the sunset... they're right "there".

Q. Why is it important to have a good logo for your business, product or service?

A. Your logo is the first impression you make to the world. It is people's first perceived image of you, and it's what they will remember you by. You want to be remembered as good. Not bad.

Q. What makes a logo good?
A. My number one rule is "Keep It Simple, Stupid" (aka. KISS).

1. A SIMPLE DESIGN - clean and tidy graphics are the most memorable. They can be identified from a distance easily. Ditch the detail, it loses your impact.

2. A SIMPLE NAME AND FONT - If people have to try too hard to figure out who you are, they're already walking away. Keep it short, and easy to read.

3. A SIMPLE COLOUR PALETTE - Stick to 1-2 colours only, plus black and white. Your logo colours are a part of your brand, and will carry your energy:
• Bright colours can be happy, energetic or confident
• Dark colours can be edgy, moody or formal
• Muted & neutral colours can be calming, grounding or relaxing

SUMMARY - A good logo is user-friendly. Make it easy for people to remember you. People can be fickle, and we can be forgetful in this busy world. We're only human beings after all. So be memorable.

Epoque Saison by Artisan Brewing.

A classic farmhouse ale. I wanted to capture vintage European aesthetics in this branding design akin to the era of the saison beer style.

A timely painted farming scene with sweeping valleys and rivers, depicting small village life, early farming, harvest season and the origins of farmhouse ales.

An organic colour palette of muted greens and earthy golds pair with the delicately fruity & spiced profile of the beer.
