"Wabi-sabi(侘び寂び)"

- Wabi-sabi is difficult to express in English. The words “wabi” and “sabi” were originally used separately, but today they are usually combined together as one expression. “Wabi” is the attitude of seeking beauty and inner contentment in simplicity and imperfection. “Sabi” is the attitude of seeking beauty in withered things where their internal essence is oozing out to the surface, an example of which is a stone covered with moss.

「侘び」は質素なものや不足の中に、美や心の満足を見出そうとする意識、「寂び」は古びたものに美を見出す意識のことで、内面世界の本質が外へにじみ出していることを差すそうです。なんとなく感覚的に分かってはいるけれど、言語化するのは難しいですね。

"My World, My Essence"

- I found a great photo magazine in Japan, which is called "GENIC". This post's title is from the magazine. I know. My photo account is messy. There are portraits, landscapes, street snaps, colour, monochrome, etc..... I sometimes consider making my account more organised with one concept. But this is me at this moment. (日本に帰ってきて何か良い写真誌を探していたところ、1つ見つけました。「GENIC」という雑誌で、紙質も良く気に入ってます。そのvol.71が「私の写真世界」というキャッチコピーでした。何かに絞った方が良いと分かってはいるものの、なかなか自分のスタイルや軸を決めるのは難しいですね)

"Containbow"

- I'm not sure what the official name of this structure is. Even though I had lived in Perth for 4.5 years, I visited there at the last moment before I left. I captured tons of shots to get a vehicle in space. I got many images, so this red motor bike is one of them. (西オーストラリア・フリーマントルにあるカラフルなコンテナで作られた虹を形作ったオブジェ。パースにワーホリか留学に来た人は結構初期に訪れる場所なんですが、4年半も滞在して最後の最後にやっと行きました。真ん中に空いたスペースに乗り物を入れたくてたくさん撮ったうちの1枚です)
