ASCENT is a new work in the making lead by a Inter-generational team of Independent artists. Isha Sharvani
It combines Indian dance/ aerials with contemporary dance, physical theatre and new circus aerials, accompanied by original live music and percussion. Storytelling and metaphor is at the heart of my choreographic practice and with this work I seek to connect in a powerful and meaningful way with audiences. We take the form of the ascent of an imagined spirit rising out of the material world. We tap into the courage it takes to let go of all things, and be weightless enough to fly, and in this is a process of dissolving and transformation. As we look towards new futures and ways of being in our tumultuous world, this work represents a vision of transcendence and becoming.
