Ready to take off in Strings?

The FledgeStrings is the fledgeling string ensemble for the South Side Symphony Orchestra in Perth, Australia.

It was started in 2019 for rusty or fledgeling string players under the name ‘Development Strings Ensemble’. The FledgeStrings runs alongside the main SSSO orchestra, providing a training ground for string players in preparation for their eventual progression into the SSSO.

We aim to provide those at an earlier stage of musical skill level the opportunity of playing in an ensemble while developing their musical and orchestral skills in a friendly, supportive and nurturing environment. No audition is required, however players should be at or above approximately AMEB Grade 2 level.
