Great session with the team at Orway Mineral Consultants exploring a simple but important idea; technical expertise alone isnโt enough to drive outcomes, influence matters just as much.
We looked at practical ways to improve client conversations, including using the SCARF framework to better understand resistance, structuring recommendations to build buy-in, and turning technical insight into something clients can actually act on.
Plenty of strong discussion throughout and a clear focus on becoming more intentional in how we communicate with clients.
Looking forward to continuing the work in Session 2!

FEEDBACK FRIDAY ๐ฌ
Thereโs something powerful about time and consistency.
Our 9-month rollouts give us the opportunity to work closely with leaders, drive meaningful change, and build strong, trusted relationships along the way.
Recently, one of our coaches noticed that two sessions had been scheduled with the same client in a single day. We reached out to check if they would prefer to cancel one, but the response we received said everything about the impact of our work.

ACP Founder and Principal Consultant Anna Pitman had the privilege of attending the Friends of Parliament House event for Rare Disease Day last March, a meaningful gathering centred on advocacy, awareness, and collective impact.
The event was opened by , setting the tone for an important conversation on how we better support those affected by rare diseases and strengthen collaboration across sectors.
As the mother of a child living with a rare disease, Anna found it especially encouraging to see such genuine engagement across both Parliament and Community.

Leadership visibility isnโt about being louder. Itโs about being intentional.
In todayโs environment of AI-accelerated information, scrutiny moves fast and narratives form quickly. Stakeholders are paying less attention to polished messaging and more attention to whether leadersโ behaviour aligns with their values.
The most trusted leaders build credibility before itโs needed, by showing up consistently in the quiet moments, not just during crisis.
The challenge? Many leaders are buried in the day-to-day operational weeds, leaving little space to step back and lead visibly and deliberately.
Thatโs exactly why we designed Leadership Redefined.
Our group leadership coaching program helps leaders step out of the operational noise and develop the skills to truly delegate, zoom out and enable their teams to think for themselves.

May marks Mental Health Awareness Month; a timely reminder that mental health is both deeply personal and shaped by the environments weโre part of.
The "69% Rule": According to a 2024 report by the Australian HR Institute, managers have as much impact on employee mental health as their spouses and partners, with 69% of people saying their boss affects their mental health more than their therapist.
In the workplace, leadership plays a meaningful role in that environment.
At the same time, the workplace can either support that wellbeing or add to the load.
But what often has the greatest day-to-day impact is
- How feedback is delivered
- How challenges are navigated
- How expectations are communicated
- How leaders respond under pressure
These micro-moments shape the overall experience of work.
Having strong EI skills is both protective of personal mental health, and of those around you.
Effective leadership requires more than knowing what to do.
It requires awareness of:
- Thoughts
- Emotions
- Reactions
Because under pressure, even experienced leaders can default to habits that may unintentionally create tension or uncertainty.
Building emotional intelligence helps leaders pause, reflect, and choose responses that better support both performance and wellbeing.

Alongside supporting others, leaders can also take a moment to reflect:
- What environment am I helping to create?
- How do I respond when things donโt go to plan?
- What impact does my behaviour have on others?
We teach EI at work via our online and in-person transformational programs. Find out more:

We recently facilitated a leadership alignment workshop with the senior team at WFR, a health and performance consultancy working largely in mining.
The focus was on stepping back from day-to-day delivery to explore how the leadership team operates as a system, including clarity of roles, decision-making, communication, and the patterns shaping performance and wellbeing.
The objective was to strengthen alignment, surface whatโs getting in the way, and create a shared foundation for more consistent, sustainable leadership moving forward.
Here's what someone said:
โA key takeaway for me was to assume good intentions and be more open in how we engage, itโs a simple shift that can change how we work together.โ

A room full of generosity, perspective and real impact.
ACP Consulting Group Director Anna was proud to attend and contribute to the recent Meet the Philanthropist event through her role on the Board, helping guide the conversation through questions and discussion on the night and hearing firsthand from philanthropist Joanne Woods.
From reflections on โenoughnessโ and why giving now matters, to real examples of impact, including how a single $150 grant helped a young girl access something as simple, and as significant, as a new school uniform, the evening was a reminder that meaningful change doesnโt always start big, but it always starts somewhere.
Meridian continues to create a space where generosity meets action, connecting people, ideas and opportunities to give in ways that truly matter.
Weโre looking forward to the next event next month.

Thank you to the team at Corrs Chambers Westgarth for the opportunity to speak at their International Womenโs Day event last month.
We explored the theme โBalance the Scalesโ, reflecting on the progress made in gender equality while also examining the subtle dynamics that still shape opportunities, recognition and leadership in professional environments.
The conversation focused on simple reminder: awareness.
Because often itโs the small moments, that quietly influence careers over time.
