Proud to reflect on the opportunity where our Multicultural Labor organisation was honoured to attend the Perth Eid Festival, celebrating the spirit of unity, diversity, and community here in Western Australia.

Events like the Perth Eid Festival truly showcase what makes our state special, people coming together from all backgrounds to share culture, food, music, and joy in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

A big thank you to the organisers, Abdi Artan including the Tanzeel Islamic Society, for creating such a vibrant and family-friendly celebration. From carnival rides and cultural stalls to delicious food and entertainment, it was a beautiful reminder of the strength of multicultural Australia.

Looking forward to continuing to support and celebrate events that bring our communities together in unity and respect. 🌏🤝

Today we celebrate and remember those who've fought for fair and decent working conditions in Australia.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Wishing a very happy, peaceful and blessed Orthodox Easter to all those celebrating today.

It was Labor that ended the White Australia Policy. On this day in 1973, Gough Whitlam’s Migration Act came into force – ending the White Australia Policy.

This led Australia to become the proud multicultural nation we are today.

Labor has a proud tradition of embracing Australian multiculturalism, and I am proud that so many cultural traditions call Perth home.
