Mayor Reynolds knocked back my request to attend today's meeting remotely, despite letting other councillors do so previously.
Even though I am on an approved leave of absence, I wanted to be there to speak against increasing travel entitlements for councillors.
Today's agenda revisits critical budget measures. Last month, I proposed a package designed specifically to keep rates low while maintaining the standard of service you expect. The majority of council voted down my proposal, but I will always keep ratepayers top of mind.
Did you know Russell Square in Northbridge is one of Perth’s very first parks?
Walking through these historic grounds got me thinking about how much our city has evolved.
As Northbridge continues to grow and buzz, it begs the question: do we need more green space in the urban core?

Making City Life Better!
Small changes often make the biggest impact. In this carpark, the pavement used to lead to a dead end; after I suggested a connection to the City, it is now fully accessible.
If you have ideas—large or small—to improve the City of Perth, I would love to hear them.

Professionalism is the Secret Sauce!
There is nothing better than seeing hard work and expertise recognised. A quote from the former Premier in today's media:
“The councils that are operating effectively tend to be the large ones, Stirling, Cockburn, City of Perth, and they have professional staff and are a lot more capable.”
The City of Perth team is truly world-class! Having a group of highly qualified, professional staff makes all the difference in delivering a vibrant and well-run city.
The facade is not quite finished and the lighting is yet to come, but this already looks fantastic. It will be a sight to see once it is glowing!
Walking for Phil
Today was about more than just the distance; it was about honouring a life taken far too soon.
We walked in honour of my brother-in-law, Phil, who we lost to MND at just 37. Watching a sea of sailor hats move together through the crowd was a powerful reminder of why we show up. Every step served as a tribute to his memory (and his love of boats).
Subi is Glowing (and it is Worth the Trip!)
These giant, glowing floral lanterns by Matthew Aberline were fun.
It is the first time this installation has been in WA, and even though I’ve wandered out of the City of Perth, the neon vibes are definitely worth the short trip.
