February is Heart Research Month! Listed below are our quick tips when exercising:
-We would first suggest that you visit your doctor to be cleared to exercise and to seek out a professional opinion of the best way to exercise from an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.
-Ensure suitable warm up/cool down.
-Carry angina medication, if required.
-Be aware of medication side effects when exercising. e.g., Sometimes RPE (Rating of Perceived Exertion) is a better representation of intensity oppose to measuring HR (Heart Rate), as some medications will lower your HR.
-Rest between exercises.
