Harmony Day Celebrations
Last week for Harmony Day we had a special guest join us to share stories and books about the Aboriginal community. read beautifully illustrated books that introduced our explorers to Australian animals, taking them on a journey to learn about the unique creatures of our land. Before she began, we acknowledged the land and its traditional owners, a meaningful part of our connection to the earth and its history.
Our explorers were thrilled when they received a special bracelet as a token of the day, a thoughtful gesture that further deepened their sense of belonging and connection to the celebration. After this, Mrs. Emma introduced the children to the traditional Australian food, Damper. She explained the significance of this humble bread, which has been a part of the Aboriginal and settler communities' history for generations. The children eagerly participated as she guided them through the process. They took turns pouring the ingredients, and with excited hands, they kneaded the dough together. Helena and the children all joined in, working as a team to create the Damper dough.
In this activity, the children not only practiced their fine motor skills by pouring, kneading, and measuring, but they also learned the importance of teamwork and following instructions. They also gained a deeper appreciation for the significance of Damper in the context of our Australian heritage, especially in terms of community, tradition, and sharing.
Thank you, for spending the morning with us š¤

Ready, set, count! š
Our little drivers recently took to our mini city to explore early numeracy in a fun, hands-on way. With roads, cars, and numbered parking lots, every turn became a new opportunity to count, sequence, and learn.
Our Growing Gems zoomed around, discovering that numbers can be as exciting as a joyride!
