How long will a knee last? There is no set formula but if you start a and program and if needed you will improve pain and function.

Case from today - 77 years old, runs 30 minutes per day on treadmill, does 14000 steps per day, minimal pain
Advised to get a knee replacement as he was ‘bone on bone’
Treat the patient not the X-ray, highly likely this chap is going to keep smashing his exercise out for many years to come….Also highlights the fact that arthritic knees LIKE exercise , less pain and better function
Thanks to the patient for consenting to share this story,

Patients should trial an exercise and dietary program first. For ongoing moderate to severe pain and loss of function, knee replacement can be a good option.
How long does it last??
After 17 years , 91 percent of knee replacements are still working well. This rate is higher in older patients and lower in younger ones.

S W I P E for contemporary knee arthritis treatment in 2020....
