Starting 26 August 2024 (for non-small businesses) and 26 August 2025 (for small businesses), employees will have the Right to Disconnect from work-related contact outside regular hours.
Key points to remember:
✔️ No need to respond to work calls, emails, or texts after hours unless it’s unreasonable.
✔️ Urgent situations may require contact, but compensation and role expectations apply.
✔️ Employers and employees should set clear boundaries for after-hours communication.
