One Meal. .One Bite. .One Act of Kindness — Rebuild Sri Lanka Together

Dear Friends of the Perth Community,

Cyclone Ditwah has left deep scars across Sri Lanka. Homes washed away. Livelihoods destroyed. Families left with nothing but hope.
It is estimated that the damage caused by this disaster exceeds USD 6 billion — but behind that number are real people, real children, and real stories of loss.
Today, Sri Lanka needs more than sympathy.
She needs hands that will help her stand again — stronger, together.
One meal you enjoy here in Perth can help feed thousands of children back home.
One bite of kottu can help rebuild a roof over the head of someone who lost everything.
One small act of generosity can restore dignity, hope, and the belief that they are not alone.
In response to this devastating event, Sri Lankan community organisations across Perth have come together to organise a large-scale Sri Lankan Food Fair, raising funds for Rebuild Sri Lanka — a relief and recovery initiative supporting those most affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
We warmly invite Sri Lankans and friends of Sri Lanka from all backgrounds to stand with us by:
• Attending the Food Fair
• Buying authentic Sri Lankan cuisine
• Ordering online and sharing with friends and family
For your convenience, online orders can be placed from anywhere in Perth — North, South, East, or West — with collection points at:
Mosman Park | Joondalup | Ellenbrook | Baldivis
This is more than a food fair.
It is compassion served on a plate.
It is hope wrapped in generosity.
It is Perth extending its heart to Sri Lanka.
We humbly ask for your support.
Together, let us turn flavour into kindness — and kindness into rebuilding lives.
With gratitude and hope,

Dear fellow Sri Lankans in the Perth/WA community,
The Sri Lankan Government is acting promptly in managing the disaster in Sri Lanka, ensuring both emergency response and long-term recovery. Our government is committed to transparency in every action and remains accountable to the people.
From past experience, we know that during critical situations in Sri Lanka, several groups collected funds—often into personal accounts—and kept them in trust funds here in Australia. Learning from these issues, the current Government has now established a centralised and transparent process for rebuilding Sri Lanka.
A centralised Treasury account and the Rebuild Sri Lanka Fund have been introduced, which will be managed by an expert committee. All infrastructure and rebuilding efforts in Sri Lanka will be carried out through these official channels.
If you follow the unbiased media updates thus far , it is obvious that the government has managed the situation to best possible way with utmost transparency .

Therefore, if your heart goes out to our people in Sri Lanka and you wish to contribute to rebuilding their lives, please choose the right path.
Do not let your hard-earned money go to waste.
