Wow. Huge thank you to everyone who came down last Friday for the launch of Forge. The amount of love in the room honestly meant a lot, It felt like such a warm welcome home.

Big love to and .wahid as well for being part of the first one and helping set the tone exactly how we imagined it.

When we came back from the UK we knew we wanted to start Forge with a really clear intention. To build nights around the music and sounds we’ve always loved and grown up listening to, while creating something thoughtful, immersive, community focused and true to us. We care deeply about this music and it honestly meant a lot seeing people fully immersed in the night, dancing, connecting and enjoying sounds they might not normally hear. When you run an event, that’s genuinely all you can hope for.

Shoutout .com.au for the photos and for always supporting what we do. Having friends around us who support things so genuinely, without it feeling transactional means a lot.

A few things that matter to us ❤️➡️

Burna & Hally, joint operators of Forge, have long worked together in Boorloo’s club spaces. Before launching Forge, they ran Terminal, bringing artists like Neffa T, Sully and Plastician to Perth and hosting a Rinse FM tour.

After Terminal wrapped in January last year, they spent a year in the UK playing shows and festivals and absorbing the sounds that feel most natural to them. Returning home with a clearer direction, they launched Forge as a focused alternative in a nightlife landscape that often feels funnelled towards the same few options.

Their B2B sets blend Burna’s techno and UK club influences with Hally’s bassline and 160 foundations, moving through Jersey, b***y bass, jungle and wider club sounds with an emphasis on bounce and fun. They’ve supported Australian tours for Flowdan and Nia Archives and have played across Europe and Southeast Asia.

Markos aka is a music producer and DJ from Perth, Western Australia. He was exposed to bass music when he started attending nights and fell in love with dubstep.

Almost a decade later, Markos finds himself still rooted in sound system music but his tastes have diversified. His music is centred around three main pillars: intricate drums, percussive grooves and bass weight.

If you had to assign genres to his music it would be a mix between dubstep, breakbeat, ukfunky and techno, but genres do not matter. He has released music with labels such as Ec2a (UK), Taipan Trax (UK), Redline Records (NZ), Noise Pollution Records (SP) and Big Ting Recordings (AUS) just to name a few.

His genre fluid dj sets have earned him spots supporting the likes of Plastician, Neffa-T, Sammy Virji, Main Phase, Alix Perez and many more artists who have graced the coasts of Australia.

NATHAARA is a dancefloor-driven DJ who lives for the party from both sides of the decks. Moving through bass-heavy cuts of dembow, breaks, baile, club and jungle, she plays for the dancers who face away from the front. Her sets weave in South Asian and Arabic influences, shaping a percussive, rhythm-led approach to electronic music with subtle shifts in pace that keep you on your toes. Prepare for dance inflicted damage and a sonic exploration across her diaspora.
