Our team supplied and installed a new double power point for the TV plus two double power points inside the cupboard, along with a new TV antenna outlet run using RG6 quad shield coaxial cable and a 3-way splitter to distribute the signal where needed.

Around 10 metres of HDMI cable was run from the TV position through to the cupboard for a fully concealed connection to the AV equipment. The old phone point was removed and neatly capped with a blank plate, and the TV was mounted securely to the wall with a bracket and arm, finished off with the soundbar mounted and connected to match.

⚡A great mix of repair and upgrade work in this Scarborough bathroom.

Our team started by repairing a damaged switch circuit, then installed and wired a new 4 gang switch to bring everything back under control.

From there, two double power outlets with integrated USB-C were wired in, along with an LED strip and a mirror light for a clean, modern finish. Two new downlights were installed and wired for brighter, more even lighting, and a Tastic unit was wired in to keep the bathroom warm and well ventilated.

These need to be compliant and in good working order before a property is rented out or a new tenancy begins. Smoke alarms also can't be more than 10 years old.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵: WA doesn't set a strict "every X years" inspection rule like some other states do. Instead, the responsibility sits with the landlord to make sure everything is compliant and working correctly at all times during the tenancy, not just at the start.
So what should you actually do? Most experienced property managers and landlords get RCDs and smoke alarms tested annually, or at every change of tenancy at minimum. It's a small cost that avoids a much bigger risk: non-compliance can mean infringement notices, fines, and in a worst case, a genuine safety incident that was entirely preventable.
