Recently we gathered to say a heartfelt thank you to the volunteers who help make Hero Hunter Foundation what it is today.
Every meal delivered, every garden transformed, every family supported and every event run is made possible because people choose to give their time to help others.
The evening was filled with great company, inspiring stories and plenty of laughs.
A huge thank you to Volunteering WA and Lotterywest for making the celebration possible and for helping us recognise the incredible contribution volunteers make to communities across WA.

💚 A Small Break Can Make a Big Difference 💚
Every Tuesday, something special happens on Ward 1A.
For 15 minutes, a parent or carer can step away from the stress, the hospital room, the endless appointments and the constant worry to receive a complimentary remedial massage.
No forms. No expectations. Just a moment to relax, recharge and remember to care for themselves too.
When your child is fighting cancer, self-care is often the first thing to disappear. Yet carers are carrying an enormous physical and emotional load every single day.
Our massage program is one of the most loved services we provide, because sometimes the greatest gift isn't a grand gesture—it's simply the chance to take a breath.
To every parent currently sitting beside a hospital bed, we see you. We know how hard you're fighting too.

A few weeks ago we had the privilege of celebrating the incredible volunteers who give their time, skills and hearts to support Hero Hunter Foundation.
From helping families at their toughest moments to lending a hand behind the scenes, our volunteers are the reason so much of what we do is possible.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. It was a wonderful evening filled with laughter, connection and some very special moments.

💆♀️💚 Caring for the Carers 💚💆♂️
When your child is in hospital, it's easy to forget about your own well-being.
Long days, sleepless nights, uncomfortable chairs, stress, worry and constant vigilance can take a huge toll on both the body and mind.
That's why Hero Hunter Foundation proudly provides complimentary remedial massage sessions for parents and carers on Ward 1A at Perth Children's Hospital.
Sometimes, just 15 minutes is enough to release tension, ease aching muscles and provide a moment to simply breathe.
One parent recently told us:
"That 15 minutes was the only time all week that I had focused on myself."
Supporting a child through treatment is one of the toughest journeys a family can face. While we can't take away the worry, we can provide small moments of comfort and care along the way.
A huge thank you to our wonderful massage therapist, and our generous sponsors who help make this program possible. Your kindness is helping carers feel seen, supported and cared for when they need it most.
Because when we care for the carers, we care for the whole family. 💚

After two and a half months of Hero Hunter Day events, celebrations, fundraisers, dress-up days, mullet chops, workplace challenges, school activities and community support, we can finally share the result...
✨ **$49,820 raised for Hero Hunter Day 2026!** ✨
We are absolutely blown away.
To the thousands of students, teachers, workplaces, gyms, community groups, families and individuals who wore green, donned a cape, hosted an event, bought a raffle ticket, made a donation or simply helped spread the word — thank you.
Hero Hunter Day is so much more than a fundraiser. It is a day where communities come together to stand beside families facing childhood cancer and blood disorders and remind them they are not alone.
Every dollar raised will go directly towards providing practical support for WA families, including meals, fuel vouchers, parking assistance, cleaning services, home maintenance and so much more.
Hunter's legacy continues to shine brighter every year because of each and every one of you.

🩸❤️ WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY – 14 JUNE ❤️🩸
Today, we celebrate the incredible people whose simple act of generosity helps save lives every single day – blood donors.
For children battling cancer and blood disorders, blood products are not just important; they are essential. Throughout treatment, many of our little heroes rely on regular blood and platelet transfusions to help them fight infections, tolerate chemotherapy, recover from procedures, and simply keep going.
For families sitting beside a hospital bed, every transfusion represents hope. Hope that treatment can continue. Hope that their child will have the strength for another day.
Many of the children supported by Hero Hunter Foundation have received countless transfusions during their treatment journey. Some have needed blood products weekly, while others have relied on hundreds of donations over the course of their illness.
Today, we say thank you to every blood donor. You may never meet the child whose life you have helped save, but your kindness reaches families during some of the hardest days of their lives.

This week, we celebrate the incredible people who roll up their sleeves and help save lives.
As a childhood cancer charity, we know firsthand just how important blood donations are. Children undergoing cancer treatment often rely on regular blood and platelet transfusions throughout their journey. Without donors, many of the treatments that save lives simply wouldn't be possible.
We are incredibly proud to share that Team Hero Hunter has collectively made:
🩸 73 Whole Blood Donations
🩸 143 Plasma Donations
That is an incredible 648 life-giving donations from our amazing community.
Every donation represents hope. Hope for a child receiving chemotherapy. Hope for a parent sitting beside a hospital bed. Hope for families facing some of the toughest days of their lives.
To every member of Team Hero Hunter who has donated blood, plasma or platelets—thank you. Your generosity is making a difference to families across Australia every single day.
