What an amazing weekend of learning, connection and inspiration at the AHTA National Conference! 🙌

Over three days at the Pan Pacific, Kris and Simone had the opportunity to catch up with colleagues from across the hand therapy community, share ideas and hear about the latest research and developments in our field — while Sarah joined in from home. 💙

The weekend was made even more special as Kris celebrated 10 years as an Accredited Hand Therapist, receiving an award to recognise the milestone! 🎉

We’re heading back to the clinic feeling inspired and excited to put some of our new learning into practice.

✨ CASUAL WORK OPPORTUNITY – PERTH HAND CLINIC ✨

We are looking for a casual Occupational Therapist / Hand Therapist to join our small practice and provide cover on selected days in September, November and December this year across our Canning Vale and Perth City locations.

We are seeking someone with experience in hand and upper limb rehabilitation who is confident working independently and passionate about providing high-quality patient care. We believe great therapists are worth investing in and are happy to offer excellent remuneration for the right person, along with ongoing professional development and parking.
This could suit someone looking for flexible casual work, additional clinic hours, or a therapist on maternity leave looking for some casual hours.

It is not uncommon for us to see injuries affecting both hands. Whether it is the result of a fall onto both hands, or an underlying condition affecting both sides, injuries can sometimes require splinting on both sides. Even when only one hand is initially injured, overusing the other can sometimes lead to problems in that side too. Our hands work as a team, and sometimes they recover as one too! 🤲

You know it's a good day when a patient tracks you down nearly a decade later with a handmade pot he created himself, and another brings homemade chocolate caramel slice!! One of the best parts of working in hand therapy is seeing patients get back to the things they enjoy creating, and occasionally being lucky enough to receive some of those creations along the way ❤️

Celebrating 3 years of Perth Hand over a lovely dinner together . It was a lovely opportunity to connect as a team and officially welcome Simone. We also welcomed Shai, who many of you will meet at the front desk or speak with on the phone. We are so appreciative for the continued trust and support of our referrers and patients as we move into 2026 🫶

We are delighted to welcome Simone to the Perth Hand Clinic family this week. Simone brings over 10 years of experience as a Hand Therapist across both public and private hospitals settings throughout Perth and is an Accredited Hand Therapist. Prior to specialising in hand therapy, she worked for 12 years as a Medical Imaging Technologist, giving her a strong and well-rounded clinical foundation. At Perth Hand Clinic, providing personalised and thoughtful care is at the heart of what we do. Simone shares this same philosophy and looks forward to the privilege of supporting our patients on their journey to recovery. There's something special about treating people in their home environment. Rheumatoid arthritis affects everyone very differently. This customised resting splint was made during a home visit, allowing treatment to be tailored within the person's home environment. These were made to improve comfort, support painful joints, and protect hand alignment.

When AI meets hand therapy. Not sure it captured our clinical skills, but it definitely got the teamwork right 😃Stay tuned for a new addition!
