Tendon pain at the widest part of the hips (where the muscle joins the leg bone) is very common, and especially in females. In this study, 82% of 204 people (2 years of pain) were female, and doing nothing or having one cortisone injection was unsurprisingly much less effective than a programme of exercises and education.
