Aussie's '12th Rate Rise Effect Report' surveyed 1,000 Australian homeowners, finding rising rates have left households facing significant financial hardship.

Notably, one in four borrowers say the rising rates have left their long-term financial security at risk.

Aussie Chief Operating Officer Sebastian Watkins said “It’s a great concern for not only financial reasons but also for the mental well-being and stability of families. With the potential for more rate rises soon, now is the time to act.”

The RBA has decided to hold the cash rate this month.

The Board took the decision to hold interest rates steady this month to assess the impact of prior interest rate increases.

However, the RBA’s priority remains to return inflation to its target of between 2-3%.

The monthly consumer price index now sits at 5.60% in the 12 months to May. This is a decrease from 6.80% recorded in March. Housing inflation once again outpaced the CPI all groups rate, at 8.40% in the same period.

With the RBA set to meet again on Tuesday the 4th of July, how do you predict this data will impact their decision?
