On a still Summer’s morning in Jandakot, our team were joined by Nyungar Birdiyia Elders Neville Collard and Farley Gartlett, to bless the site of the Perth Surf Park.
The local Elders performed a Nyungar spiritual ceremony, whereby grass was burned over fire, and those who walked through the smoke invited good spirits to come. It provided our team a unique opportunity to learn more about the culture of the place, and the storied history of its people.
While on site, the Elders also oversaw the safe extraction of the native Balga grass trees, which will be cared for during construction by a local nursery, and later reintroduced into the Perth Surf Park landscape.
Opening in late 2027, the Perth Surf Park will deliver an iconic sport, leisure, entertainment and tourism destination that is by the West, for the West.

“The Perth Surf Park represents the first major tourism attraction to be delivered in Perth in over 25 years, and is currently the single largest private investment in tourism infrastructure in the State. Both RAC and Wyllie have a long history of supporting tourism ventures, and their investment in this once-in-a-generation project is just the latest example of this enduring commitment to investing for the benefit of the Western Australian community.”
Aventuur has secured institutional investment from the Royal Automobile Club of Western Australia (RAC), along with further investment from existing project partner Wyllie, to deliver the Perth Surf Park.
This is a significant milestone for the project, and will enable construction to commence later this year, with public opening slated for late 2027.
The Perth Surf Park will be an iconic tourism, sport, leisure, and entertainment destination for Western Australia. Located in the City of Cockburn, the $120m surf park is expected to welcome up to 1 million guests per year to enjoy world-class surfing, wellbeing, and hospitality experiences.

We are delighted to announce our partnership with RCVRI to deliver a premier wellness and recovery destination at the Perth Surf Park.
Overlooking perfect waves, the flagship studio will offer a range of leading recovery services - including hot and cold pools, oversized traditional saunas, private contrast suites, Normatec compression and hyperbaric chamber therapy. Complementing the studio, personal suites will offer massage and other allied health treatments.
Together, we'll deliver unique experiences including surf and wellbeing retreats, surf-specific recovery programs, and community events to support local sporting organisations. The studio will also employ local practitioners, and utilise equipment from local brands, in keeping with our vision to create a surf park that is by the West, for the West.

We're stoked to announce our partnership with Ocean Heroes Australia to deliver life-changing surf therapy programs at the Perth Surf Park. Founded in Western Australia, Ocean Heroes aims to improve the wellbeing of those on the autism spectrum and their families through surfing.
Together, we'll deliver experiences and events catering to autistic, neurodivergent and adaptive surfers. By providing infrastructure and access to the Perth Surf Park, participants will enjoy Ocean Heroes events in a safe, controlled and accessible environment. We'll also be teaming up to establish an accessible division of Perth's first inland boardriders club, and work with State and National organisations to provide surf awareness instruction to school-aged children.
With all approvals now received, the Perth Surf Park is shovel-ready, with final project financing activities underway. Opening in early 2027, the Perth Surf Park will feature a 56-module Wavegarden Cove offering perfect waves for all abilities, high-performance training facilities, and major sporting and cultural events - along with quality leisure, hospitality and retail amenities.

We're excited to announce the Jacksonville Surf Park, a world-class surf, leisure and wellbeing destination opening in late 2027.
Located in eTown, the Jacksonville Surf Park will create a vibrant, sustainable surf park community that is by and for North Florida. Featuring a 56-module Wavegarden Cove surfing lagoon alongside complementary sport, recreation, hospitality and tourism amenities, the masterplanned development will celebrate the region's surfing heritage, culture and coastal lifestyle.
We're delighted to be working with experienced local partners including Lockwood Holmes, Jr., Riley Skinner, Hawley Smith, Brad Davis and The PARC Group to deliver our first surf park in North America, and admire their passion for both surf and the City of Jacksonville, Florida.

During a recent visit to Aotearoa, New Zealand Olympic surfer Billy Stairmand chaperoned Micro Surf Academy founder Glenn “Micro” Hall and our Director of Surf and Sustainability Adrian "Ace" Buchan on a strike mission to the North Island’s East Coast.

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve received resource consent for our Auckland Surf Park.
Located in Dairy Flat, New Zealand’s first surf park will provide world-class sport, recreation, hospitality and tourism amenities that celebrate Aotearoa, its surfing heritage and culture, and the area’s rural character.
With a significant focus on sustainability, the masterplanned community includes a co-located Spark data centre and 7-hectare solar farm. Notably, excess heat from Spark's data centre (planned to be powered by renewable energy, including on-site generation from the solar farm) will be harnessed to warm the surfing lagoon year-round – a world-first.
We’re thankful for all the support we’ve received to date, including from leading organisations and athletes who believe in the surf park’s potential to enhance wellbeing, and deliver an iconic destination for locals, Kiwi surfers and visitors to New Zealand.
Subject to further regulatory approvals being received, construction is expected to commence in late 2024, ahead of opening to the public in 2027.

Congratulations to the teams at URBNSURF and Wavegarden on opening Australia’s second surf park, URBNSURF Sydney at Sydney Olympic Park.

We are excited to announce our partnership with Surfing Western Australia for the Perth Surf Park.
Together, we aim to enhance the performance of Western Australian Olympic, World Surf League and junior athletes, support local boardriders clubs, surfing charities and grassroots initiatives, and drive increased participation in the sport.
The partnership will also see us team up with our global high-performance partner Micro Surf Academy and Surfing WA to develop market-leading programs and pathways for all levels.
With all development and environmental approvals now received, construction on the Perth Surf Park is expected to commence later in 2024, ahead of first waves in 2026.
