🚗💛 Logistics central today or was it organised chaos? Whatever you call it, we wouldn’t have it any other way !

Two cars. Two hotels. Glenda from Esperance and Frank returning from Broome with appointment times doing their best to overlap. For the first time ever, both our cars spotted side by side in the hospital car park, a little moment that felt like it deserved a photo! 📸

Everyone made it back to Metro Hotel Perth City safely, and we got to share some really lovely chats along the way. 🧡

Back at Metro Hotel Perth to park up for the night… and who do we bump into? Two of our volunteers with Graham and Stacey who are heading home to Cairns tomorrow after his final treatment this afternoon. Cue the lobby coming completely alive (and very noisy) with hugs, thank you's and goodbyes. 🎉

What a send-off they did, a beautiful gift for our team and a collection of 10c containers going straight towards rewarding our incredible volunteers. 💚

Just another day of laughter, renewed friendships, new friendships, and the kind of connection that reminds us exactly why we do this.

Picture this: a room full of quiet heroes. ☕

This morning, thanks to the incredible generosity of Baker MLA and his team, some of our volunteers gathered in his boardroom for a beautiful catch-up, sharing stories, sharing laughs, and taking a breath together before heading back out on the road to drive people to cancer treatment.

We are so grateful for the kindness of people and organisations who open their doors for us. It genuinely means everything.

As our community of volunteers continues to grow, we're on a journey to find a permanent home, a dedicated space where our team can connect regularly, support one another, and keep doing this work from a place of strength.

A heartfelt thank you to Geoff Baker MLA for sharing this space with us today. It's a reminder that when community leaders make space, literally, for the people doing quiet, vital work around them, the ripple effect is bigger than they might ever know.

That kind of support matters. ❤️

We were honoured to have Geoffrey Thomas join us as a guest speaker at our Fundraising for Change lunch in 2024, and it is with great sadness that we learned of his passing. Geoffrey's dedication to the aviation industry was truly unparalleled. Those fortunate enough to be in the room that day will long remember the stories he shared, a life lived with extraordinary passion, told with warmth, humour, and the quiet professionalism of someone who had given everything to a field he loved deeply.

One moment from his presentation captured it all perfectly. As a young man, Geoffrey was faced with a choice, a date with a girl, or a date with an aeroplane.

He chose the aeroplane!

The room laughed, but in that simple story was the essence of who Geoffrey Thomas was: a man whose love of aviation was not just a career, but a calling that shaped everything that followed. He left a lasting impression on all of us, and we are grateful to have had the privilege of his time and his stories.

Our heartfelt condolences go to Geoffrey's family. He will be remembered fondly, and with a smile, by all who had the pleasure of hearing him speak.

The name “Blue Dot” has a story behind it.

When I had radiation treatment back in 2013, you received a permanent tattoo, a small blue dot that is used as the precise marker to guide each radiation session. That dot stays with you forever. It became the quiet symbol of a journey so many of us have shared, and eventually, the inspiration for our name.

How things have changed !

Today, machines like the one at 5D Clinics: CyberKnife Radiosurgery Australia represents a completely different experience. No permanent tattoo. Fewer treatments. Far gentler on your body and you don’t even have to undress - you walk in wearing your own comfortable clothing and walk out the same way.

It’s no wonder people like Graham and his wife travelled all the way from Cairns to Perth to access this kind of leading-edge care. When the technology is this good, distance is no barrier and when teamed up with our volunteer support, it’s moments like these that truly change the cancer experience for people.

From a tiny blue dot to a revolution in treatment - our name carries the history, and the mission carries it forward. 💙
