Position Opportunity - NSW Department of Customer Service - Senior Investigator - Tow Trucks
The Tow Truck Investigation Unit is a specialist regulatory team within Fair Trading Operations that focuses exclusively on the tow truck industry in New South Wales. The team works proactively with NSW Police and other industry stakeholders to conduct joint targeted field operations, investigate consumer complaints, and deliver essential industry‑related education programs.
The role is critical due to the high‑risk nature of the sector, which involves vulnerable motorists, significant financial incentives, and a well‑documented history of serious and complex non‑compliance. To be successful in the role you will either possess or willingness to undertake Certificate IV in Government (investigations). TAFE NSW Ranks Recognition Program can support you through this with their fee free or heavily subsides courses for veterans.
