At our centre, we know that supporting children’s wellbeing starts with supporting the wellbeing of our incredible educators. 💛

Last week, we surprised our team with a few small wellbeing gifts as a token of appreciation for the care, dedication, and positivity they bring every day. From face masks and bath bombs to chocolates and mugs, we hope these little treats encourage our staff to take some time for themselves and recharge.

Thank you to our amazing team for everything you do. Your kindness, passion, and commitment make a difference in the lives of children and families every single day. 🌟

Reconciliation Week - ALL IN

Throughout Reconciliation Week (27th-3rd June), our children explored Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through sensory trays, natural playdough, painting, acknowledgement to country, a yarn, dreamtime stories, and symbol making experiences. Our children and educators also dressed up in the colours that represent the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags. Reconciliation week encouraged on going respect and connection to Country 💛💙🖤❤️💚

Quality Area 1 - Educational Program and Practice

We have proudly completed our Reconciliation wall here at Sagewood Success, inspired by the six Noongar seasons of Western Australia 🎨

Throughout this collaborative art project, the children explored the weather, plants, animals through the seasons - Birak, Bunuru, Djeran, Makuru, Djilba, and Kambarang. Deepening their understanding of Aboriginal perspectives and caring for Country ❤️💛🖤

Today we celebrated National Simultaneous Storytime by reading Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller with our children out in the yards. 🦘📚✨

Through Luna Roo’s journey, we explored the importance of confidence, perseverance, and believing in ourselves even when things feel challenging. The children loved engaging with the story in our outdoor spaces, sharing their thoughts and joining in the joy of reading together. 💛

💛 Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea 💛

During the month of May, Sagewood Success proudly took part in Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, raising funds for the Cancer Council in honour of Tammy Field, a valued educator from our centre’s early days.

On Thursday the 21st of May, we held a special morning tea for our educators to come together and support this meaningful cause.

Thanks to the generosity of our families, staff, and community, we are proud to share that we raised $349 throughout May! 🌼

Thank you to everyone who donated and supported our fundraising efforts. Together, we can make a difference 💛
