I’m bringing back Vintage Friday Dress-Up.

Why? Because I have far too many fabulous vintage pieces hanging in my wardrobe and honestly, they deserve more airtime.

This is my excuse to get a little more creative, experiment with styling ideas, and wear the pieces that shouldn’t only come out for “special occasions”. And if you know me, you know I love finding unexpected ways to style them with brooches. Sometimes they make the outfit, sometimes they completely change it.

I want this to be a fun space where we can talk fashion, have opinions, disagree respectfully, and enjoy the process. If you love a look, tell me. If you hate a look, tell me that too. Fashion is subjective, and that’s what makes it interesting.

So today, I want you to be the judge.

Which look would you wear? Which one would you change? Which brooch worked best? And what would you do differently?

Let’s have some fun with it. Suit from , feather brooches from ♥️

Did you know women only wear 20% of their wardrobe 80% of the time?

The funny thing is, it’s usually not because we don’t have enough clothes. It’s because we stop seeing what’s possible.

This dress had been sitting in my wardrobe after being worn just once. In my mind, it was a summer dress. End of story.

But one of the biggest shifts you can make in your personal style is to stop asking, “Where can I wear this?” and start asking, “What does this piece need?”

A summer dress might need:
• A chunky knit
• A tailored blazer
• Boots instead of sandals
• More texture
• A brooch to give it direction

Whenever I’m styling an outfit, I start with a hero piece. Then I add a grounding piece. More often than not, that’s a brooch.

The brooch helps set the mood, adds personality, and gives me a starting point for everything else.

So before you buy something new this winter, challenge yourself to wear one forgotten piece again.

You might be surprised by what’s already hanging in your wardrobe.

There’s something to be said about opposites attracting.

Not just in relationships, but in fashion too.

Some of the most interesting outfits are built on contrast.

A masculine trench coat paired with a delicate peignoir.
Tailoring with lace.
Structure with softness.
Polished with undone.

When everything in an outfit matches perfectly, it can sometimes feel a little predictable. But when opposing elements come together, something magic happens. The contrast creates tension, and tension creates interest.

It’s a styling trick I come back to again and again.

If your outfit feels flat, ask yourself:
• Can I add something softer?
• Can I add something more structured?
• Can I mix something feminine with something masculine?
• Can I pair something precious with something practical?

The goal isn’t to match. The goal is to create balance.

That’s often where personal style lives - in the unexpected combinations that shouldn’t work, but somehow do.

Save this for the next time you’re standing in front of your wardrobe thinking your outfit needs “something.” Chances are, it doesn’t need more. It just needs contrast. Peignoir/nightdress from / trench from
