Lessen with Peg - Rethink waste
What do we do with our waste? Where does it go? And how do we lessen all this stuff? If these questions keep you up at night, you’ve come to the right place.

Today's Peg question:
Can you put shredded paper in the recycling ♻️ bin?
NO!
Anything smaller than an A4 piece of paper needs to go into the general waste bin (or compost/worm farm) as it cannot be processed in materials recovery equipment and can fall through and disrupt the process.
Note: shopping dockets should go into the general waste bin (and not compost or worm farms) due to concerns about endocrine disruptor BPA and BPS though major retailers have stopped using docket paper with these chemicals.
Advice is for Western Australia!
Thank you for watching! 🤗

Make sure you use only AS4736/AS5810 certified compostable bags in FOGO bins!

Interesting upcycling idea for pup-damaged boots! 🥾
Remember, only THREE (3) kinds of things go into FOGO in Western Australia: Food organics, garden organics and certified compostable caddy liner bags (AS4376 industrial compostable, AS5810 home compostable).
Thank you 😊 🙏 💓

FOGO advice for Western Australia: Only organic food and garden waste and compostable caddy liner bags (AS4376 industrial compostable and AS5810 home compostable) in FOGO. No tissues or paper towels - these go into the general waste/red bin.
Look up specific items for which bin on the Recycle Right A-Z page.
