And just like that, local proteas are starting to take over the fridge! We’ve got Protea Neriifolia, Protea Queen, and a newbie in the mix, Protea Grandi.

Say hi to Alicia 🌸

There’s a big chance you crossed paths with her during the Mother’s Day rush. She’s been part of the Profresh team for around 6 months, but she’s been in the industry for 10 years, so she’s one of those people who just gets it when it’s busy and you need calm and a little bit of help (plus a giggle and a gab along the way)

And behind the scenes during Mother’s Day, Alicia had another role too: keeping the Profresh team fuelled with her delicious baked goods 🥲

Her all time flower crush is sunflowers. She loves them in all varieties, but Teddy Bear and Chocolate sunflowers have her heart. Underrated bloom she’ll back forever: daffodils. Tiny fairy cups, perfect for imagining a little nectar sip and a scone or two.

Outside of Profresh, she’s painting murals, making art, and drinking a truly impressive amount of coffee ☕️

Fun fact: Alicia is a self described craft goblin. Right now it’s jewellery making and silversmithing, but she also crochets and embroiders, usually in bed with a cup of tea and her chatty tortoise shell kitty

It’s been a big week at Profresh, early starts, daily arrivals, and a lot of packing and dispatch to keep up with demand. And just like you, we’ve been running on teamwork and a lot of caffeine! Weeks like this are always a reminder of how much the trade carries, and how much gets done behind the scenes.
