There’s a popular saying in Italian: “Chi nasce tondo non può morire quadrato” meaning in English “who is born round can’t die square”.

According to this, people can’t change. What's done is done. ❌❌

Well no!!! Change is progress, everything needs change to evolve. And it doesn’t have to be perfect, as long as it keeps evolving. 🌱🌳

Shapes give a false sense of ‘security’. Yes, you feel organised, yes you’re fitting in, but what if at a point it doesn’t work for you anymore? 😯😯

Embrace change even when not all is clear, transformation takes time!

A common conversation that I have with my clients is:

“I spent a lot of money on my website. I wrote my content, there’s me in it and how I’d talk to my customers. It’s perfectly on brand but…no enquiries or conversions.”

Oh yeah, I hear you! And I’ve been there too! You can have a pretty website and super writing skills, BUT there’s no content success without research.

And deep research takes a looong time, even over a month!

The thing is: your website needs to show up online through top ranked words, otherwise it’s useless.

When you’re uncertain, the real research starts from a sneak peek:

🔍 Check out the top 10 competitors that do what you do.

🔍 Look at their websites

🔍 Analyse their most important titles (H1); their pages’ headings (H2); what pain points they solve and how.

Whilst you’re studying them, you’ll see patterns and words that repeat.

Once you found the main keywords you can use free tools like answerthepublic.com to overview the most popular questions that people ask on Google when they search for your product or service.

Finally, to optimize all your hard work, go to places online where your audience hangs out.

I promise, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. 🌈🌞

💫“She” is with you every day, everywhere you go.💫

What?! Who on earth is AIDA?

Every single time that you tap on your keyboard, put your pen on paper, record a podcast or shoot a video to let people know what you do, what service or product you sell here’s what happens:

💥 you’re consciously or subconsciously applying the AIDA formula.

💥 It’s a good old marketing model to attract leads and, step by step, funnel them into the purchasing process.

It stands for:

👀Awareness: how you create affiliation with your product or service. What is your outreach strategy?

👀 Interest: how you raise interest towards your product or service. Can you back up your reputation in the industry? Which platforms do you use for that?

👀Desire: how you turn the appreciation for your product or service into a need. How do you engage to emotionally connect to your niche?

👀Action: the well-known Call to Action before the purchase. Think of a newsletter subscription, a phone call, a live chat, online download and more.

📣 You don’t have to throw it all away! 📣

When you’re certain that something is no longer working in your business, you don’t need to erase everything and start from a blind point.

You’d rather restore what you already have and give it a new, meaningful purpose. 🙌

The same way antiquarians give a new life to objects that are old but precious, never forget the value of what you have already achieved and the paths that you’ve already walked.

Things that are not functioning are not lost, they’re just evolving. They’re history, an important baggage.

So, to get more clarity on where your business is at, go back to basics:

🔹 review your whys and your goals

🔹 look at the numbers of your business

🔹 refresh your ICA (Ideal Customer Avatar) and

🔹 according to your new discoveries, adjust your Unique Selling Proposition.

📸 Styling.

Never underestimate the power of garnishes and props. Choose the right materials, colours and textures before shooting. They set the mood of your presentation and are loyal to your brand.

📸 An effective use of lighting.

There are a lot of different uses of lighting in food photography, but a correct lighting exposure will prevent you from failing or wasting time. Furthermore, the results will blow your mind.

📸 Action on the dish.

A meaningful interaction with the ingredients is the best way to attract, explain and convince. E.g. the honey pouring action is an example of how all the layers of the dish can come to life, be noticed and reinforce their purpose.

Nope, it’s not going to happen. 🤷‍♀️

For istance, you’re not going to convert 1,800 followers into paying subscribers in a few days.

Let’s have some real talk.

Marketing is not magic, it’s a process made of research, data analysis, trials and errors.

Even the most detailed corporate campaigns can sometimes not give the expected results.

Then what? Marketers try again!
They adjust the plan, run A\B tests, send out surveys.

If you wish to turn your thousands of followers into money, forget about the magic wand with an immediate effect.

You need to be patient, give it some time, and have a strategy.

Start considering:

🔹EMAIL MARKETING as an efficient method of lead conversion. Build a strong email campaign of maybe 10 emails over 10 weeks, educating and nurturing your contacts. Then converting them into leads at multiple points.

🔹Set a MONTHLY BUDGET on advertising.

🔹 Be clear on your ROI (return on investment). Specifically, how much you expect each lead will cost you, because the aim is to constantly improve your ROI, based on cost of acquisition per time of acquisition.

Once you have this information, you can decide on a number and a sample of ads as well as a sample of audiences.

Remember, it is a long game where you will surely but slowly. 🙌

I have an obsession. 🙊
I like to call it a technique!

I shape most of the ideas that come to my mind…into story characters!

This is how it works:

🔹 As soon as I have a spark, I take notes: I sketch a drawing, give a name, a voice and a role. Otherwise, I record on my phone the same process.
🔹 I then imagine a place where the idea develops through a narrative.

Best chances for ideas to strike (let your mind talk to you):

🔸 Shower time (common for all of us)
🔸 Baby nappy change (mums can relate!)
🔸 Beach walks (water = new life)

Why it helps:

◼ Scientifically our brains give meanings to reality by looking for a story’s content.

◼ Characters in stories provide us with a mental order, let’s say a cognitive map! They allow us to better organise information.

◼ When we use our imagination we participate more, we see things from different angles, understand what might work or not and make quicker decisions.

The storytelling strategy is used in teaching, psychology, coaching AND marketing!

Try to “think characters” when you set your daily business goals or master problem solving.

Your PEOPLE – PLACE – PLOT and PURPOSE could become clearer!
