💼 What’s in a first aid kit for bunnies and piggies?🐹🐰

Occasionally our little pets need special attention and it helps to have the following items on hand-

-Critical care (DO NOT give unless a blockage has been ruled out) this is only available from a vet (you can also use mashed up pellets with water)
-Infacol- available at pharmacies and supermarkets, used for tummy pain associated with gas
-1ml Syringes
-Digital thermometer and petroleum jelly
-Nail clippers, scissors and tweezers
-Gloves
-Cotton balls and buds
-Bandages/gauze
-Betadine- dilute 1 part to 10 parts water
-Table salt, for making saline solution

🍼 2-4 hourly feeds round the clock
🍼 assessing hydration
🍼 maintaining warmth
🍼 ensuring they don’t aspirate the milk (this is one of the highest causes of neonate deaths)
