Citrus gall wasp needs to be cut off and disposed of before the larvae hatch, which happens in spring.

🕒 Best Time to Prune in Perth
• Late winter to very early spring:
This is the critical window – ideally by mid-August in Perth.

Gall wasp larvae develop inside the swollen lumps (galls) on branches over autumn and winter. They hatch and emerge as adult wasps in spring (around late August to September), ready to lay eggs in new growth.

Check your citrus tree and get those branches removed asap.
