What a fantastic evening celebrating an incredible season at the Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club WA Awards Night!

This season was a first for the club, with Sorrento winning all six major pennants:
🏆 Pool Rescue Champions
🏆 State Endurance Champions
🏆 Nipper State Champions for the sixth consecutive year
🏆 Youth Champion Club for the third consecutive year
🏆 Open State Champion Club for the second consecutive year
🏆 Masters Champion Club for the first time

Look who visited me at Parliament House today!

The students from Belridge Secondary Education Support Centre got a behind-the-scenes look at where the laws of our State are made and took the opportunity to let me know to brush up on my football knowledge! 😅

They even had a chat with Deputy Premier and Minister for Transport Rita Saffioti MLA about trains. 🚆

It's not every day you get to meet a real life astronaut! 🚀

Katherine Bennell-Pegg is a true inspiration to all Aussies, as the first person to qualify as an astronaut under the Australian flag.

As a space engineer, Katherine has advanced multiple space missions and technologies, and she travels across Australia to inform and inspire about all things space and STEM.

It was a pleasure to recently welcome Katherine to WA. I look forward to the day we farewell Katherine on her space mission!

100 years young for Iris! 🎉

Iris has lived an incredible life - from South Africa to England (for just seven months because it was too cold!), and eventually to sunny Perth, which she says is the best place in the world.

After arriving in WA and spending time in army barracks, she built a life here and never looked back.

Her secret to looking this good at 100? Staying active!

The students came prepared with plenty of thoughtful questions about my role, what I'm most proud of achieving for our community and the day to day realities of representing our community.

Defence and innovation was on full display at the Indian Ocean Defence & Security Conference last week. 🛡

As Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Industries, it was great to attend and hear from leaders across the sector about future capabilities, and how WA continues to be at the centre of our region's critical defence and security conversations.

It was a privilege to present the Innovation Pitchfest Awards, recognising the incredible talent driving new technology and solutions.

Events like this showcase just how much potential there is for sovereign industrial growth and local jobs right here in WA.
