This International Men’s Health Week, SETS are encouraging men to take a practical step for their health.
The 2026 theme is See a GP, highlighting the importance of speaking with a doctor when something feels off with your physical, mental or emotional wellbeing.
In emergency response, mining, construction and industrial environments, people are trained to notice risk, act early and look out for others.
The same approach matters for your health.
Use this week as a prompt to:
• Book a health check
• Speak up if you are struggling
• Check in with a mate
• Make time for movement, rest and recovery
• Seek support early
You do not need to wait until something becomes serious.
Look after yourself. Look after your mates. Book the appointment.

A look back at the firefighting category from SMERC, stunningly captured by Ten Sharks Photography!
This part of the competition puts teams under pressure and tests more than technical skill. It demands communication, teamwork, composure and the ability to respond effectively in a fast-moving situation.
These photographs capture the focus and intensity of the category, along with the professionalism competitors bring to every scenario.
SETS is proud to support competitions that reflect the realities of emergency response and help strengthen capability across the industry.

A big thank you to the volunteers who gave their time to support SMERC.
From helping bring scenarios to life to adding pressure, realism and unpredictability for competitors, your contribution plays an important role in the value of the event.
These scenarios are stronger because of the people willing to step in and help make them feel real.
SETS appreciates the time, energy and support of every volunteer involved.
Events like this are only possible because of the people behind the scenes who help make them happen.

When emergency response equipment is selected in isolation, gaps can appear where it matters most.
At SETS, equipment is part of a bigger system.
As one of the key pillars of our turnkey emergency management solution, equipment is chosen based on real operational needs, site risks and the people using it. That means it is not simply supplied. It is aligned with training, personnel and fleet to support better readiness on site.
From emergency response and medical equipment through to specialist rescue capability, our approach is focused on reliability, compliance and practical performance in real conditions.
It is one more way SETS helps clients create safer, more responsive worksites across Western Australia.

As National Road Safety Week comes to a close, it is a timely reminder that road safety is not only a campaign message. It is a daily responsibility.
National Road Safety Week asks every Australian to drive as if the people they love are on the road ahead.
The campaign highlights a hard truth. Around 1,200 people are killed and more than 40,000 are seriously injured on Australian roads each year.
At SETS, we know road incidents demand skill, preparation and fast, effective response. That is why road crash rescue training remains such an important part of emergency response capability for high risk sites and industries.
If you are interested in building practical rescue skills or strengthening your team’s emergency response readiness, visit the SETS website to learn more about Road Crash Rescue courses including PUASAR024 Undertake road crash rescue & PUASAR022 Participate in a rescue operation.
