Celebrate Turtles on World Turtle Day May 23🐒 Did you know Perth hosts Australias most critically endangered reptile? The Western Swamp Tortoise (actually a turtle) was once thought to be extinct but their numbers are now on the rise thanks to the efforts of Perth Zoo, the Friends of the Western Swamp Tortoise Inc. and other dedicated advocates and supporters. Find out more and how you can get involved in the full length video on my YouTube Channel - link in comments.

Banksias not Bandicoots πŸ’š πŸ˜‚. I went for a stroll at Craigie Bushland hoping to spot some Quendas (Bandicoots) for a video I’m working on. I didn’t see any but was pleasantly distracted by all the Banksia menziesii at various stages of flowering. And the yellow variety is always a delight to see. Thought I’d share some pics with you all πŸ’šβ€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’š

There is something I love πŸ’š about having a YouTube channel that most people don't mention - it's connecting with my viewers. They share their stories and I learn so much from their comments - this past week I've learned that:
- Bobtails are known as Bog Eye Lizards in Nyngan NSW
- Planting of Australian Acacia's in Phoenix has exploded because they withstand lasting high temperatures
- Apparently Berry Saltbush berries are high in antioxidants, and
- One viewers recent connection with a Forest Red-tailed Black Cockatoo, while visiting Kanyana Wildlife, was a bucket list dream come true, and inspired them to do more to help protect Black Cockatoos
I love love love connecting with people from around the world in this way πŸ’šπŸ₯°πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‡πŸπŸ¦ŽπŸ¦ŸπŸ¦…πŸ¦‰πŸ¦β˜˜οΈπŸŒ±πŸͺΎπŸŒΎπŸŒΌπŸ’šπŸ’š. Do you have a bushland, plant or animal story to share?
